Ala Moana Center’s new Sears appliance and mattress store will hold a grand-opening celebration today an hour before its 10 a.m. opening to the public.
Sears, which left the mall in 2013 after spending more than 50 years at Hawaii’s largest shopping center, chose to return to the center with a smaller showroom for appliances instead of a full-line department store.
The company will be distributing goody bags with $5 gift cards and appetizers to the first 100 customers starting at noon. Customers also can win raffle items, including a $250 Sears gift card, and get 10 percent off certain items throughout the day.
Eden in Love expands
Eden in Love, a family-run clothing boutique at Ward Village, has opened two more stores in Las Vegas and Waikiki.
The anchor of Ward Village’s South Shore Market unveiled a second location at the Town Square Las Vegas on Aug. 1 and a third store at the International Market Place on Nov. 1.
Since 2007, owners Bryson and Tanna Dang have run the retail outlet that encourages customers to donate to local and global nonprofit organizations along with their purchases. Eden in Love has donated to more than 50 charities in Hawaii and abroad. The new boutiques sell women’s clothing, accessories and home goods.
