Tickets are on sale for the Hawaii Swish basketball team’s season opener Saturday against Southwest Atlanta at the Blaisdell Arena. The Swish compete in the semi-professional American Basketball Association.
The Swish, who went 4-0 in an abbreviated debut season in 2017, are slated to play six games, all at the Blaisdell through March 3. However, only the first-game (7:30 p.m.) tickets are currently being sold.
The team, owned by Geremy Robinson, is comprised of a handful of former players from the University of Hawaii (Robinson, Miah Ostrowski, Pii Minns) and local Division II schools, and is coached by Artie Wilson.
“We are very excited to begin our second season in the ABA,” Robinson messaged the Star-Advertiser. “Join the excitement as we look to stay undefeated on our way to bringing our state an ABA championship. With our enhanced roster of new players and returnees, coaching staff additions, and front office staff we are expecting much success for years to come, and it’s safe for all to say Hawaii now has a pro basketball team of their own.”
General admission seats are $15, with discounts offered for the military ($10) and students ($8) with IDs. For tickets, go to the Blaisdell box office during business hours or visit www.ticketmaster.com and search for Hawaii Swish ABA.
