The Queen’s Medical Center was recertified Wednesday as Hawaii’s only level 1 trauma center.
The American College of Surgeons notified the Punchbowl Street hospital that it will continue its designation as the highest-level trauma center through Aug. 11, 2020.
The designation means that Queen’s has the resources to perform the highest level of surgical care for trauma patients.
