Hawaii’s Carissa Moore posted a six-wave score of 17.60 t0 lead the women’s standings heading into the finals of the Surf Ranch Pro in Lemoore, Calif., on Saturday.
Moore is the lone local surfer to advance out of qualifying. Hawaii’s Coco Ho, Tatiana Weston-Webb, Malia Manuel and Bethany Hamilton were eliminated.
Joining Moore in the finals are Australia’s Stephanie Gilmore and Americans Caroline Marks and Lakey Peterson.
On the men’s side, Hawaii’s Sebastian Zietz was the only local surfer to advance to the finals, qualifying as the eighth surfer out of eight with a composite score of 15.50.
