Singer-songwriter Bobby Caldwell, right, talked backstage with Marco Olivari, general manger of the Blue Note Hawaii, after his late set there March 18. Caldwell entertained the thoroughly engaged audience with a set that stretched from his 1978 debut hit, “What You Won’t Do For Love,” to songs from “Cool Uncle,” his recently released collaboration with producer Jack Splash. Caldwell is holding a copy of his previous CD, “After Dark,” a big band salute to classic American pop.
