Forty-nine bright students from across Hawaii compete?in the?state-level competition of the 26th annual National Geographic?Bee?at the Neil Blaisdell Center in Honolulu. The ten finalists were Alexander Galeon, left, Tai-Li Lasure, Nick Sarji, Aidan Bowie, Zackery Suffern, Emma Fusato, Matthew Sohn, Mika Ishii, Travis Afuso and Yankun "Kevin" Zhao. Mika Ishii, a 12-year-old 6th grader from Kaimuki Middle School, won first place. She previously won as a 4th grader. Second place was Kevin Zhao, a 12-year-old from Punahou School. And third place was Travis Afuso, a 13-year-old from Mililani Middle School.
