Hawaii’s John John Florence won Sunday’s Quiksilver Pro France, beating Brazil’s Jadson Andre.
Florence posted wave scores of 7.17 and 8.83 to easily beat Andre’s total of 4.57. It’s his second World Championship Tour title.
"It has felt like such a long event and I’m so pumped to get the win in the end," Florence said. "We’ve had every type of condition for this event and even finishing in barrels was a lot of work."
Florence beat Australia’s Josh Kerr in the semifinals with scores of 7.33 and 8.17.
Manuel eliminates Moore in quarterfinals
Malia Manuel eliminated two-time reigning ASP World Champion Carissa Moore in an all-Hawaii quarterfinal at the Cascais Women’s Pro in Portugal on Sunday.
Manuel scored 11.66 to Moore’s 11.10 to record her first victory over Moore in 10 World Tour meetings.
Manuel was eliminated in the semifinals by Sally Fitzgibbons. Stephanie Gilmore won the event.
