The Rainbow Warriors produced $434,671 in ticket revenue, surpassing the $400,000 budget projection for the season, athletic department officials said.
The two-year high was aided by a $1-$2 increase in ticket prices in several areas of Les Murakami Stadium.
In addition, UH ranked 18th in average for tickets distributed (3,140) per game, according to a survey by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. The total includes two sellouts and topped all West Coast schools. Overall, UH distributed 109,924 tickets for its 35 games.
Louisiana State led the nation with an average of 10,880 per game. The national numbers also include five teams above UH that hosted NCAA regionals last week.
The ‘Bows were 13th in 2013 (3,357) and 17th in 2012 (3,340) and 2011 (3,320).
"No question that we are humbled by the support our fans have given us,” head coach Mike Trapasso said. "It is no secret that the last couple of years haven’t been up to standard for us and yet the fans have supported us.
"I think it is a couple of things: No. 1 is the schedule that we have played and, No. 2, that we’ve been in those games."
UH’s average turnstile count dipped to 1,843 from 1,995, according to school figures. The NCBWA does not survey turnstile numbers.
Athletic director Ben Jay said, "All things considered — the weather and the record — we’re pleased with the numbers."
