Woman held in stabbing of Lawai man
Kauai police arrested a 25-year-old woman Tuesday after she allegedly stabbed a 30-year-old man in Lawai.
Police said the woman went to the man’s home about 3:41 a.m. and an altercation occurred between the woman, another female and the man.
The woman, who is also from Lawai, stabbed the man’s left leg, police said.
The man fled and drove to the Lawai General Store to call police. He was taken to Wilcox Hospital for treatment.
Police later arrested the woman at a Lawai residence on suspicion of first-degree assault. She is being held in lieu of $36,100 bail.
Workshops offered on census data
Two workshops on how to access data from the 2010 Census and the 2009 American Community Survey are being offered by the U.S. Census Bureau, Kauai County and Kauai Community College.
The workshops will be conducted at the community college on Wednesday and June 23 from 1 to 4:30 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, computer laboratory room 123.
Registration is required, and will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is limited.
