Alleged bank robber arrested in Hauula
Honolulu police officers, responding to an argument near a Hauula beach park on Saturday, found a female suspect in a Chinatown bank robbery the day before, police said.
Police arrested the 40-year-old woman on suspicion of second-degree robbery. She allegedly demanded money from a bank teller at 10:16 a.m. Friday in Chinatown and fled down North King Street with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
On Saturday, officers went to the scene of an argument, identified the woman and arrested her at 11:10 a.m.
Teen girl saved after near-drowning
Emergency Medical Services personnel transported a 17-year-old girl to a hospital in critical condition Sunday following a near-drowning incident at Yokohama Bay.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. The girl also suffered head and facial injuries.
No other details were available.
Rescue attempt hospitalizes man
A 28-year-old man was in serious condition Sunday night after a near-drowning incident at Kailua Beach Park.
Initial reports indicated the man might have been attempting to help a child in distress. He was taken to a hospital by Emergency Medical Services.
