Robber flees with cash from store
Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a Kalihi store early Saturday morning.
At about 5:30 a.m., a man entered Ono’s M Market on Kalihi Street.
Police said he brandished a handgun before escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police did not provide a description of the suspect.
Woman sought after missing hearing
Police are asking for the public’s help to find a 31-year-old woman wanted on a $20,000 contempt warrant for failing to appear for a probation hearing May 5.
Brandie Navarro was convicted of forgery in 2010. Navarro tried to cash a large check at the Kapiolani branch of Bank of Hawaii on July 7, 2009, but the bank contacted the account holder because of the large amount, police said. The owner of the account said the check was fraudulent.
She is 5 feet 1 inch and 121 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME from a cellphone.
Alleged prostitutes arrested in sting
Police picked up two women in an undercover prostitution operation Wednesday night in Waikiki.
The women, ages 19 and 20, were arrested at 11 p.m. for investigation of street solicitation.
One was arrested at Kuhio Avenue and Walina Street while the older woman was arrested at Kaiulani and Kuhio avenues.
They both posted $1,000 bail and were released.
