Kari Anderson Ambrozich, the longest-tenured assistant coach in the history of the Hawaii women’s volleyball program, is leaving her position after 14 seasons.

The athletic department is expected to announce today that Ambrozich has accepted another position within the department. Ambrozich most recently served as associate coach, providing technical training for setters, overseeing players’ academic progress and recruiting, as well as handling many of the administrative duties.

Head coach Dave Shoji declined comment until the official announcement is made. The job opening is expected to be advertised next week.

Ambrozich, a setter for the Rainbow Wahine from 1991 until 1994, has been on staff since 1996. The two-time Wahine captain and All-Big West selection ranks in the top 10 in UH career assists (2,385) and assist average (10.51).

Ambrozich is married to former UH basketball player Eric Ambozich.
