Haleiwa man killed in mo-ped crash ID’d
The city Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 56-year-old Haleiwa man who was fatally injured Tuesday when he crashed his mo-ped into a pickup truck as Michael Golubski.
Golubski was not wearing a helmet and died of "multiple blunt force injuries."
Police said Golubski disregarded a yield sign and crashed into a 2002 silver Toyota Tacoma driven by a 62-year-old Wahiawa man who was heading into Haleiwa. The accident occurred on Kamehameha Highway, one-eighth of a mile west of Joseph P. Leong Highway.
Golubski was taken in critical condition to Wahiawa General Hospital, where he died from head and body injuries, police said.

Pennsylvania man arrested in child sex case
Hawaii County police have arrested a Pennsylvania man wanted as a suspect in a sexual assault case on the mainland.
Detectives with the department’s Hilo Juvenile Aid Section, acting on information from the Bucks County, Pa., district attorney’s office and the Bristol Township Police Department, arrested Albert August Zuest, 66, Tuesday afternoon.
A warrant had been issued for the arrest of Zuest, who is a suspect in the rape of a minor in Pennsylvania, police said. He has been on the island since at least 2009, the Hawaii Tribune-Herald said.
Zuest signed a waiver of extradition Thursday in Hilo Circuit Court and was to be returned to Pennsylvania that day, the Tribune-Herald said. Details of his arrest were not disclosed.
