Honolulu bowler collects 4 gold medals
Jarret Mizo of Honolulu won four gold medals representing the United States at the Bowling Tournament of the Americas in Tamarac, Fla., which concluded Saturday.
Mizo, in his first international tournament as a member of Team USA, helped the U.S. to two overall team titles. Mizo and Steve Smith combined to win the men’s doubles, and he partnered with Tennelle Milligan to take the mixed doubles.
"It was pretty exciting, since this is my first tournament," said Mizo, on bowl.com, the United States Bowling Congress website.
"The first couple of days I didn’t do so well in adjusting to the transition, but after talking to Tennelle and other veterans, they have helped me make better decisions."
Mizo was seventh in men’s singles.
