Diver’s body recovered off Hawaii island
Hawaii County Fire personnel recovered the body of a 26-year-old man who went missing early Sunday morning while diving in Kapoho Bay.
Search crews, assisted by the man’s friends and family, found the body in 10 feet of water about 150 yards offshore. A Fire Department helicopter brought the body back to shore. The man’s name has not yet been released.
SUV crash severely injures Mililani man
A 27-year-old Mililani man suffered severe head injuries Saturday night after he was ejected from the Ford Explorer he was driving at Campbell Industrial Park.
According to police, the vehicle was traveling on Komohana Street near the Tesoro Gas Refinery when it hit a curb, veered back into traffic and rolled over several times.
The driver was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
Police said speed might have been a factor. It is not known whether drugs or alcohol might also have been factors.
Woman extricated from overturned car
A two-car collision in Kapaa, Kauai, trapped a woman in her overturned vehicle early Sunday morning.
The collision was reported around 1:45 a.m. on Kawaihau Road. The woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, was removed from her vehicle and transported to Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Her condition was not reported.
The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
