Web can help you beat the school jam
Technology is a wonderful thing, but it has its limits. Transit-related websites here such as goakamai.org and hea.thebus.org give the driver or bus rider, respectively, at least a hint of what to expect on the road, which will be especially helpful when the back-to-school crush happens a little more than a week from now.
Wouldn’t it be just perfect if the Web could save us from such pain altogether? Maybe it’s time to ask the boss if we all can just email it in. We can dream, right?
Maui suits 6-year-old Michigan golfer
Nothing to this game of golf, 6-year-old Braden Hill thought, after using a 9-iron to sink a hole-in-one from 68 yards at the kids tee on the 14th hole of Maui’s Kaanapali Kai Course last month.
"I had to explain to him I’ve never gotten one, most golfers hadn’t ever had a hole-in-one," his father, Brent Hill, told . "Being 6, he hasn’t quite grasped it."
Actually, the Michigan youngster is quite good at golf, winning two of the three tournaments he entered this summer, consistently shooting in the 40s for nine holes.
He started early, picking up his first golf club at age 1.
