Nanakuli man arrested for assault
A 28-year-old Nanakuli man was arrested Friday morning at his residence and faces charges of kidnapping, assault and terroristic threatening.
Police said the suspect’s former girlfriend, 20, reported that he struck her in the face, took her to a beach park and then threatened her by putting a sharp instrument against her neck.
The woman called police and told officers that the suspect had also held her against her will and struck her multiple times the previous week, police said.
Police nab suspect in forgery attempt
A 54-year-old Moiliili woman was arrested Thursday after trying to cash a forged money order at the Walmart store on Keeaumoku Street.
When the cashier made checks on the money order, the suspect fled the store but was stopped by arriving Hono-lulu police officers in the parking lot.

Kauai fire crew rescues hurt hiker
A 27-year-old man had to be airlifted to safety Wednesday after he broke his leg near Kauai’s Alakai Swamp trail.
Kauai police were notified at 5:08 p.m.
The Kauai Fire Department’s helicopter picked up the man at 6:45 p.m. flew him to Waimea Canyon Park where paramedics transported him to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
