Truck and driver sought in hit-run crash
Honolulu police are looking for a light-colored pickup truck, perhaps a Toyota Tacoma, and the truck’s driver in connection with a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a bicyclist in Kalihi Wednesday night.
Police said a 20-year-old Kalihi man was riding his bicycle in the center Ewa-bound lane of Dillingham Boulevard just east of Kalihi Street when a truck hit him from behind at about 11 p.m.
The driver turned right on Kalihi Street and drove off in the mauka direction, witnesses told police.
Police said the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet and that the bicycle did not have lights or reflectors.
Man and woman team up to steal car
Police were looking for a man and a woman who robbed a man in Nanakuli Wednesday and stole his car.
Police said a man in his 20s entered the victim’s car at about 4 p.m. and demanded money and the keys to the car. A woman in her 20s stood by the door of the car trying to prevent the victim from leaving.
The victim jumped out of the car. The male robber drove off with the car, and the woman left on foot, police said.
Argument ends with vow to kill daughter
Police arrested a 44-year-old Pearl City man who allegedly threatened to kill his teenage daughter following an argument.
Police said the suspect and his daughter, 17, were arguing in their Pearl City home just before midnight Wednesday when the daughter left the home.
The father allegedly got a gun and told another person in the house that he would kill his daughter if she returned home. Officers arrested him on suspicion of terroristic threatening, abuse of a family member and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Kapolei student arrested for threats
An 18-year-old student was arrested at Kapolei High School for allegedly threatening adults who questioned his class attendance.
The student was confronted by a 44-year-old man Tuesday and a 25-year-old woman Wednesday about being out of the classroom. Both times, the student got upset and said he would hurt them, police said.
Police booked him Wednesday on suspicion of two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and later released him pending investigation.
