Threat to court officials results in arrest
Police arrested an 18-year-old Aiea man Tuesday after a report that someone threatened to shoot a judge and a probation officer last week at the Kapolei courthouse.
Police said the threat was made Aug. 22 against a judge and a probation officer by a man upset that officials were trying to get his girlfriend to stay away from him.
The suspect was arrested for investigation of two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and released pending further investigation.
Stolen pair of saddles prompts call for aid
Hawaii island police are asking for the public’s help in finding thieves who made off with two saddles in Honokaa.
The brown Hawaiian tree saddles were removed from a home on Kapuna Road sometime between March 1 and June 7.
One is described as a brown 15-inch Hawaiian tree saddle with a maile lei design on top of the fenders and the name "KLOWEE" stitched on the leather strip of the back seat area. The other is described as a brown 151⁄2-inch Hawaiian tree saddle with the name "KAWAMOTO" stitched into a covered area under the seat.

Counterfeit bill lands woman in cellblock
A woman was arrested after allegedly trying to use counterfeit money Monday afternoon at a Kalihi gas station.
Police said the woman attempted to buy several items with a counterfeit bill at the service station at about 5:15 p.m.
The woman, 40, who gave no local address, was arrested near the Kamehameha Highway-Middle Street intersection and was being held pending a charge of first-degree forgery.
Man released after arrest in sex assault
Hawaii island police arrested a 29-year-old Kurtistown man who was wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a woman on Aug. 2.
The man was arrested on Aug. 6 on suspicion of kidnapping, theft, criminal property damage, interfering with reporting a crime and six counts of sexual assault. After conferring with prosecutors, detectives released him pending further investigation.
