Boyfriend charged with attempted murder
A 30-year-old Waikiki man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to push his girlfriend out of a moving vehicle Tuesday on Moanalua Freeway.
Police said the suspect and the victim, 23, were arguing in a moving vehicle near the Puuloa Road overpass about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when the suspect, who was driving, tried to unlatch the woman’s seat belt and push her out of the car.
The suspect is being held pending charges of second-degree attempted murder, two counts of third-degree assault and second-degree terroristic threatening.
Teen IDs Makiki man in robbery attempt
A 15-year-old boy recognized an 18-year-old Makiki man who allegedly tried to rob him earlier this month and called police, who arrested the suspect Wednesday.
Police said the suspect approached the victim on Aug. 21 and threatened the juvenile when he refused to turn over his property.
The victim saw the suspect at Makiki District Park at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Kauai police ask help on missing woman
Kauai police are seeking public help finding an elderly Colorado woman missing since Sunday.
Mary Ester Reeves, 70, was last seen Sunday afternoon on Kauai when she rented a silver, four-door Mazda 3 sedan, license plate KAE823. The car has not yet been found, Kauai police said.
Reeves, a visitor from Littleton, was dropped off Sunday at Hilo Airport, where she boarded a flight to Lihue, police said.
Reeves is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. She has hazel eyes, short red or auburn hair, a medium build and a fair complexion.

Alcohol blamed in fatal crash
Maui police said alcohol was a factor in the death Wednesday of a 31-year-old Wailuku man who crashed his motorcycle last month near Kahului Airport.
Police said David Pullins died early Wednesday morning from injuries he suffered Aug. 4 when his 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle crashed on Lelepio Street near Kahului Airport.
He was not wearing a helmet.
Bullins’ death Maui’s 12th traffic fatality of the year, compared with 10 at the same time last year.
