Man died of head injuries in fall from trolley
An autopsy confirmed that a Japanese tourist who fell from a moving trolley Monday died from head injuries sufffered in the fall, the city medical examiner’s office said Wednesday.
The death is considered an accident, the office said.
Police said the 71-year-old man was standing in the trolley Monday and fell out as it was leaving Ala Moana Center.
He was taken in critical condition to a hospital, where he later died. He has not yet been positively identified, the office said.
Police seek man using another’s ATM card
CrimeStoppers and police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who used the ATM card of a visitor from Japan who was found disoriented in his Waikiki hotel room.
Police said security personnel at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel checked on a hotel room Aug. 20 after hotel operators received a series of dropped calls from the room. Upon their arrival they met with a Japanese tourist who appeared disoriented.
His ATM card was used in various locations and security cameras showed an unknown male withdrawing money from his account. Police opened a kidnapping investigation and released a security camera photo of the suspect.
