A 21-year-old Palama man pleaded not guilty Thursday to a second-degree murder charge in connection with the stabbing of a neighbor in Mayor Wright Housing two weeks ago.
Takson Krstoth is scheduled to go on trial the week of Nov. 21. He is accused of murdering TJ "Tipuk" Mori, 24, who was stabbed near a garbage bin at the housing project Sept. 10. If convicted, he faces a life term with parole.
The city prosecutor’s office said the stabbing occurred after an argument between the two men.
Krstoth allegedly stabbed Mori in the back with a foot-long kitchen knife. Police arrested Krstoth two blocks away.
Krstoth entered his not-guilty plea via a closed-circuit video conference call from Oahu Community Correctional Center. He has been unable to post $250,000 bail.
