A 19-year-old woman said a 58-year-old professional photographer sexually assaulted her and prevented her from leaving his Kailua home during a lingerie photo shoot Sept. 8.
Robert "Bob" Trudeau was indicted by an Oahu grand jury Tuesday and is expected to enter a plea in Circuit Court later this week.
Trudeau was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree sexual assault. He is being held on $75,000 bail.
The incident allegedly happened from about 10:15 to 11:05 a.m. Sept. 8, a police affidavit said. Police said the woman is from London. The affidavit did not say whether she came to Hawaii specifically for the photo shoot or was already on Oahu.
The affidavit said Trudeau, who operates RT Photography, contacted the woman through the "Model Mayhem" website and set up a lingerie photo session at his studio in his Kailua home at 105 N. Kainalu Drive. The model said she made "it clear that I do not shoot nudes" on her profile on the website.
The woman responded to Trudeau by email and said she was "very inexperienced" and had done only one shoot before, the affidavit said.
The photo session took place in Trudeau’s bedroom, the affidavit said. About 10 to 15 minutes into the session, the photographer unclipped and removed her bra without her permission, the woman told police.
The woman told Trudeau she "felt uncomfortable and ‘she didn’t come for this.’" The photographer allegedly responded that she could leave when he was finished and continued photographing her topless. When she tried to leave, Trudeau allegedly blocked the door with his body and sexually assaulted her, the affidavit said.
