A little fresh makeup for the airport
It’s nice to know that a state that prides itself as a tourist destination will finally have an airport that looks a little less, shall we say, tacky.
Nothing wrong with walking down a breezeway in a place with temperate breezes year-round, but come on. The floor surface has been as potholed as our streets, and for years. That appears to be all in the past.
Will the bigwigs here for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting have to ride the Wikiwiki buses? That would spoil the whole effect.
New iPhone keeps Jobs’ winning streak going
Steve Jobs must be looking down and smiling. Apple Inc.’s new iPhone 4S sold like gangbusters over its debut weekend, with carrier partner AT&T reporting a record number of activations. Fans worldwide lined up for the gizmo, with a Siri voice control system to ask for directions, call and text friends, and get restaurant advice. Simply off the hook.
