Stabbing near beach brings man’s arrest
Hawaii County police arrested a 29-year-old Keaau man Monday in connection with a stabbing near Honolii Beach Park.
Officers arrested Michael Glendon at 4:30 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree assault.
South Hilo patrol officers responded to a call at 11 a.m. Monday and found that a 29-year-old Hilo man had sustained two injuries to his lower back in an altercation with an acquaintance on Kahoa Road. The injured man had been taken to Hilo Medical Center for treatment of wounds that did not appear to be life-threatening.
Woman sees burglary suspect, phones 911
A 34-year-old Waianae man was arrested Monday for allegedly burglarizing an Enchanted Lake house.
Police said a 54-year-old woman spotted the man climbing over the fence bordering Enchanted Lake Elementary School. She also noticed that glass louvers were missing from the window of the house and called 911. Police arrived and arrested the suspect at the Enchanted Lake Center.
2 good Samaritans hold burglary suspect
Two Waianae men captured a 22-year-old man who tried to burglarize a Waianae home Monday night, police said.
The 22-year-old man reportedly kicked open the door to a Waianae home just before 9:30 p.m. A 51-year-old woman ran from the home and found the two men, who confronted the suspect in the house. The suspect then tried to flee but was caught by the men, who held him until police arrived.
