SAINT LOUIS ACHIEVERS HONORED | 1. Saint Louis School President Walter Kirimitsu ('58) and Principal Patricia Hamamoto welcomed inductee Patrick K.S.L. Yim ('59), Robin Campaniano and Dr. Lawrence K.W. Tseu ('51) to the 2011 Gallery of Distinguished Achievers dinner Oct. 13 at the Monarch Room. Campaniano was representing the late Christopher G. Pablo ('68); Dr. Tseu ('51) represented Anthony M. Ruivivar ('88). Yim told the audience that while the school's motto, "Memor et Fidelis," translates as "mindful and faithful," he sees it as a call to "be mindful and be faithful."

SACRED HEARTS HONORS GRADS | 5. Student co-host Asia Mateo ('12) and Head of School Betty White chatted with 2011 Hall of Distinguished Alumnae inductees Maile Lu'uwai ('80), Dr. Sally Malia Chang ('76) and Dr. Maureen Chang Takahashi ('84) at the Sacred Hearts Academy 2011 Scholarship Fund Gala Oct. 14 at the Sheraton Waikiki. Lu'uwai said she had gotten in trouble in school for sketching in class, but 30 years later is about to start a new career as an artist.

Sandy Wilbanks, right, bought enough merchandise to qualify for VIP status and an official photo with Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio Oct. 11 at the new Waikiki store. After that she went upstairs, saw that the sequined "I (heart) Hawaii" tops and bottoms were in stock and bought a set.

VON BARON SRO AT MARKS | 2. It was literally standing room only when von Baron celebrated the release of his solo CD, "The Answer," with a sold-out afternoon CD party/concert Oct. 16 at The ARTS at Marks Garage. Susan Anderson had her copy signed while the performance area was being rearranged for the finale.
