HPU’s Malley takes weekly honors
Hawaii Pacific senior Dany Malley was named the PacWest runner of the week in men’s cross country after winning last Saturday’s Chaminade Invitational. Malley was timed in 23 minutes, 57 seconds over the 4.7-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park, the final race in the final race before Saturday’s PacWest championships.
Men’s honor roll
» BYU-Hawaii: Sophomore Matt Belliston finished second (24:24), junior Justin Royer third (24:27) and junior Spencer Deavila fourth (24:29) in leading the Seasiders to the team title of the Chaminade Invitational. BYUH dominated the meet with runners taking four of the next seven places with Yuki Kitahara seventh (24:58), James Clay eighth (25:10), Nick Jones ninth (25:15) and Jacob Valeriano 11th (25:20).
» Chaminade: Freshman Jorge Cisneros led the Silverswords to a third-place finish at their own invitational with a sixth-place finish in 24:57. Garrett Prinslow, a senior out of Kealakehe) was 10th overall (25:21).
» HPU: Senior Jon Cleghorn helped the Sea Warriors to a second-place finish at the Chaminade Invitational, placing fifth overall (24:39).
Third weekly honor for BYUH’s Krout
Brigham Young-Hawaii’s Lacey Krout is making the most of her senior season, winning her third meet and earning her third weekly honor from the PacWest. Krout won Saturday’s Chaminade Invitational, finishing the 3-mile course through Central Oahu Regional Park in 17 minutes and 40 seconds, and leading the Seasiders to the team title.

» BYU-Hawaii: The Seasiders dominated the Chaminade Invitational, placing all six runners in the top nine. Finishing second behind Krout was Katherine Buxton (17:57), with Kassie McGonical third (18:47). Kelsey Royer was fifth (19:06), Katrina Kropushek sixth (19:07) and Veronica Camarillo ninth (19:28).
» Hawaii Pacific: Shannon White led the Sea Warriors to a third-place showing with a 19:27. Mary Botsford was 10th overall in 19:36.
» Hawaii-Hilo: Nadia Ramirez led the Vulcans to fifth place, finishing 12th overall in 20:00. Jordan Bledsoe was 14th (20:25).
» Chaminade: Emily Ochsner was fourth overall (18:49) as the Silverswords took fourth at their invitational.

Men’s honor roll
» Chance Bukoski, HPU: The senior forward out of Kapaa scored two goals and had two assists as the Sea Warriors shut out BYU-Hawaii 5-0 in a nonconference match.
» Heimana Chene, HPU: The senior forward scored two goals in the 5-0 win at BYUH and scored the first goal in a 2-0 victory over Dixie State.
» Mael Lefebvre, HPU: The senior goalie stopped 13 of 15 shots as the Seasiders went 2-0-1 on the week.
Women’s honor roll
» Britt Edman, BYUH: The senior midfielder scored the game-winner in the 58th minute of a 2-1 victory over Dixie State, and scored with 1 second left in the first overtime of a 1-0 nonconference win over Hawaii Pacific.
