Utah State football coach Gary Andersen publicly thanked the University of Hawaii training and medical staff for the prompt attention given his injured quarterback during Saturday night’s game at Aloha Stadium.

Chuckie Keeton suffered what a Utah State spokesman said was “an extreme stinger to the spine” in the second quarter of the Aggies’ 35-31 victory. Keeton was carried off the field and taken by ambulance to The Queen’s Medical Center. He was reported moving and walking Sunday.

“I commend everybody at Hawaii,” Andersen said during Monday’s Western Athletic Conference football coaches’ teleconference. “I thank our medical staff, Hawaii’s medical staff, they were on it now, very, very quick. I think it was handled very professionally by everybody who was there,” Andersen said. “I think Chuckie will come back, but the timetable is very unclear at this point.”
