3 gymnasts earn TOP spots
Three Hawaii gymnasts have earned spots on the Talent Opportunity Program national team and will attend a camp later this month at the USA National Women’s Gymnastics Training Center in Huntsville, Texas.
Earning spots out of some 3,000 were Hawaiian Island Twisters members Kalyxta Gamiao and Kelsi Carter, and Jenna Domingo of Island Twisters. Domingo is coached by Kevin McMahon; Gamiao and Carter are coached by Joe Rapp and Lori Yee.
Masters track club banquet set
The Hawaii Masters Track Club will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a banquet Nov. 27 at the Maple Garden restaurant on Isenberg Street.
The club will recognize members accomplishments over the past four decades, including those who won medals at last summer’s U.S. Senior Olympics and Martin Hee, coach for Olympic gold medal decathlete Bryan Clay. Check-in begins at 10 a.m., with the buffet at 11 a.m. and the program at 11:30. Mike Tymn is the featured speaker. For reservations, call Jack Karbens at 735-6366.

Motocross camp at Kahuku track
Two-time world champion Seb Tortellia is the featured rider at the Champ Factory Motocross Camp on Nov. 25-26 at the Kahuku Motocross Park.
The cost is $150 per day, $300 for both days. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an hour break for lunch.

Hawaii rodeo team takes 2 titles
Elena Aoki finished as reserve world champion in the Young Guns division and Meilan Sim in the youth division at the Extreme Cowboy World Championship last week in Guthrie, Okla.
Sim also finished 10th in the novice division, while Danielle Stump was 12th and Brynn Thurston 19th out of 39 riders. Stump was 12 and Jaime Ciletti 23rd in the non-pro division. Cilette finished third and Pris Starn 13th in the youth division. Brooke Matson was 10th in young guns.
