Unknown soldier’s remains make it home for holiday

COURTESY u.s. army U.S. Army Pacific Command Sgt. Maj. Frank Leota on Tuesday helped secure the remains of his uncle, Pfc. Jimmie Gaitan, who died as a prisoner of war in North Korea in 1951. Gaitan, who was buried as an unknown soldier at Punchbowl, was recently identified by the Joint POW/MIA Accounting command, and will be buried by family on Saturday in Texas.
