‘Die Hard’ in line for ‘Hana Hou’
Sometimes classic movies just sneak up on you. When "Die Hard" was released in 1988, no one really expected much. After all, it was Bruce Willis’ first outing as an action hero, and the action was set at a corporate Christmas party. But his canny portrayal of an everyman caught in an uncompromising position made "Die Hard" an instant classic and one of the great action movies.
"Die Hard" is back for two screenings as part of Consolidated’s "Hana Hou" retro-movie series, at 7 and 10 p.m. Monday at the Titan XE theater at the Ward 16 complex. Tickets are available at the box office or online at www.fandango.com.
In other Consolidated news, the animated "Pokemon the Movie: White — Victini and Zekrom" will have its second and final screening today (the first screening was Saturday). Here’s a link to the preview in case it’s your cup of preteen anime: www.pokemonthemovie.com/victini/white.
Consolidated has also started an amenity at Ward 16 that offers reserved seating.
It will be available for weekend and holiday screenings, or when the movie is expected to be very popular.
For example, reserved seating is available for "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," both opening Dec. 21. No more waiting in line only to discover that the only seats left are in the front row.
