Restaurant stands out with its ‘no serve’ list

Tanaka of Tokyo has long kept a detailed database of its customers, which enables the teppanyaki-style restaurant to place some of its visitors on a "no-serve" list or give others special treatment. Chef Keoki Cornelio prepared food at Tanaka's outpost at Ala Moana Center. Tanaka of Tokyo posts the results of their customer survey cards daily for their employees to see.

Tanaka of Tokyo chefs like Keoki Cornelio combine cooking and entertainment at the teppanyaki-style restaurant’s three locations. Tanaka’s solicits comments from its visitors, which are then entered into a database to help create a more personalized dining experience, including food and seating preferences.
