National title for 4 Hawaii soccer players
The California Baptist men’s and women’s soccer teams recently won the National Christian College Athletic Association national championship for both teams. Three Hawaii women (Rosie Nakata, Mililani ’10; Christina Armstrong, Hanalani ’11; Mikala Anuhea, Sacred Hearts ’11) and one man (Mark Hope, Hawaii Baptist ’10) were on the respective rosters.
The women defeated Trinity (Ill.) International 2-1 in the final while the men were 2-1 winners over Geneva (Pa.). It was the first national championship for both programs.
Lady ’Swords basketball still winless
Kaylie Robison’s game-high 16 points led five Alaska-Anchorage players in double figures as the visiting Seawolves defeated Chaminade 91-47 on Wednesday.
Sophomore guard Jordan Ahakuelo led the Silverswords (0-5) with 10 points. Chaminade plays Montana State at McCabe gym on Friday at 5 p.m.
