Hurley leads Hawaii-Hilo to basketball win
After trailing 30-23 at the half, Hawaii-Hilo rallied to defeat Montana State Billings 49-48 in women’s basketball Sunday in Hilo to improve to 4-5 on the season.
Hillary Hurley led Hawaii-Hilo with 13 points and was solid at the free-throw line, finishing 9-for-10.
Jameia McDuffie hit five of her six shots and finished with 12 points for the Vulcans.
Freed-Hardeman drops Chaminade in OT
Kyle Teichmann scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) to a 101-97 overtime victory over Chaminade on Sunday at McCabe Gym.
Matt Cousins finished with a double-double for the Silverswords, scoring 22 points with 13 rebounds.
Four other Chaminade players finished in double-digit scoring.
The score was tied 39-all at the half and 90-90 at the end of regulation before the visitors outscored Chaminade 11-7 in overtime.
