This year’s recipe offer of the five “By Request” favorites of 2011 has already earned more than $3,000 for the Star-Advertiser’s Good Neighbor Fund. If you’re interested, the deadline (Dec. 31) is approaching, so get your order in the mail.
This year’s Top 5:
>> All-Day Portuguese Bean Soup (for the slow-cooker)
>> Mix-’n’-Match Meatloaf (a basic how-to that breaks down the components of a good meatloaf and explains how to vary them)
>> Meaono Pohaku (Stone Cookies)
>> Alley Restaurant Pumpkin Crunch
>> Hawaiian Sun Chichi Dango (made with powdered juice mixes)
To order: Send $5 per set to “By Request,” Honolulu Star-Advertiser, 7 Waterfront Plaza, Suite 210, Honolulu 96813. Include one legal-size stamped, self-addressed envelope for each set ordered. Make checks payable to the Good Neighbor Fund.
If you’d like to make a larger donation, we’ll pass it on, but be sure to indicate how many sets of recipes you want and how much is a pure donation. No email, fax or phone orders.
