Robber strikes Bankoh’s Kalihi branch
The Kalihi branch of Bank of Hawaii on North King Street was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money Tuesday morning, police said.
A man entered the bank, made a demand for cash and fled with cash at about 8:34 a.m., police said.
No immediate description of the suspect was given.
Victim in fatal bar fight was from Honolulu
A man killed in a fight outside a Kapalama bar early Sunday has been identified as Solomone Niusini, 26, of Honolulu.
The city Department of the Medical Examiner said Niusini died from injuries due to a blunt head trauma and classified the case as a homicide.
Tevita Aholelei, 21, turned himself in late Monday afternoon in connection with the incident outside Da Kine Sports Bar.
At about 2:05 a.m. Sunday, police said, Aholelei hit the victim outside the bar at 545 Kaaahi St., causing him to fall backward and hit his head on the pavement.
Niusini was taken by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Aholelei was being held Tuesday at the Honolulu Police Department cellblock pending a count of second-degree murder.
Witnesses sought in crash that hurt cyclist
Police are asking for help finding witnesses to a traffic collision involving a woman on a bicycle that occurred at Kalua Road and 9th Avenue in Palolo Valley at about 1 p.m. Dec. 9.
The victim regained consciousness after the crash and called friends, who found her injured and lying on the grassy area between the street and the sidewalk, police said. She was taken to the hospital with fractures to her back, jaw and face.
The woman’s bicycle was found leaning up against a wall at the scene with damage to the back of the seat.
The victim could only recall leaving the house and then regaining consciousness lying on the grass, police said.

Mo-ped fatality was Honolulu man, 80
A mo-ped rider who died after a crash in lower Makiki Monday has been identified as Robert Ahlstrom, 80, of Honolulu.
Police said Ahlstrom died of cranial cerebral injuries from the motor vehicle accident on Young Street between Palm Drive and Piikoi Street at about 10 a.m.
Police said a Toyota, driven by a 55-year-old Honolulu man, was moving out of a curbside parking space when it struck the mo-ped driver. Ahlstrom, who was ejected, was not wearing a helmet, police said.
He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He died later Monday.
Speed and alcohol are not believed to have been factors.
It was the second motor vehicle fatality in consecutive days on Oahu.
Suspect in credit card theft is booked
A 21-year-old man was arrested Sunday in the alleged theft of an acquaintance’s credit cards.
Police said the victim, also 21, reported his wallet stolen when he noticed it missing after meeting with the suspect, whom he knew through a mutual friend.
The suspect allegedly opened a charge account in the victim’s name Sunday.
He was detained at Best Buy in Aiea for allegedly trying to use the victim’s credit card earlier in the day.
Police found the suspect with the victim’s wallet, driver’s license, Social Security card and bank cards. The suspect was booked on suspicion of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information and fourth-degree theft.
Man, 39, accused of stealing plywood
A 39-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing plywood from a company he works for.
At about 9:46 p.m. Sunday a witness saw the suspect allegedly driving a truck loaded with plywood that belongs to the company. The witness didn’t recognize the suspect, but called police and followed the suspect to his home on Hakimo Road.
Police responded and found that the vehicle was stolen, as was the plywood. Police arrested the suspect on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, and second-degree theft.
