Here are synopses of this week’s Korean drama shows:
"My Love by My Side"
Episodes 49 and 50 (last episode)
Tonight, 6:45 p.m.: Soryong has the envelope that Mrs. Kang left with him at the orphanage. Mi-sol sees the same initials on an envelope at Hope House. They get a phone number for the sender, but when Soryong calls it’s the chairwoman’s number. Ok-soon tells Mal-ja about the lady who called claiming to be Soryong’s grandmother.
Tonight, 7:45 p.m.: Seok-bin is being indicted without being locked up. He goes to say goodbye to Yong-woong. Jin-gook finally comes back and says goodbye to Mrs. Kang. Mi-sol gets her job back at the TV station. Seok-bin watches Mi-sol and Soryong get married from afar.
"Thousand Days’ Promise"
Episodes 7 and 8
Monday, 7:45 p.m.: Hyang-gi falls ill from stress and is hospitalized. Neither Ji-hyung’s nor Hyang-gi’s family give up on the wedding.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Hyang-gi tells her parents there will not be a wedding since Ji-hyung won’t show up, and they’re furious. Ji-hyung’s and Hyang-gi’s fathers discuss calling off the wedding. When Seo-yeon learns Ji-hyung called off the wedding, she tries to change his mind.
"Live in Style"
Episodes 17 and 18
Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Shin-hyung and Ara realize they still have feelings left for each other. Shin-hyung warns Eun-girl never to come near Ara again. But when Ara hears Shin-hyung and Eun-girl were in a fight, she calls Eun-girl. Hae-shim tells Yong-pal she wants her name on the deed of his house if he’s going to marry Sung-ae.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Sung-ae collapses at the wedding and is taken to the hospital, but the busy staff neglects her and Ara ends up calling Eun-girl. After the examination, Eun-girl tells the family the cancer has returned and Sung-ae has only a few months to live.
"Tree with Deep Roots"
Episodes 15 and 16
Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Secret Root members put up posts saying they have the prince in their care and that he will die if the king does not abandon the Korean alphabet he created.
Saturday, 7:45 p.m.: Chae-yoon asks the king to keep Prince Gwang-pyong’s return a secret in order to catch the members of the Secret Root. He also asks the king to grant a wish if he catches Jung Gi-joon and to let him help announce the new alphabet. Unaware of Prince Gwang-pyong’s return to the palace, the members of the Secret Root believe Chae-yoon came back to the palace to kill the king.
