Brown’s Beach House restaurant at the Fairmont Orchid resort and Travaasa Hotel Hana (formerly the Hotel Hana Maui and Honua Spa) have joined the AAA Four Diamond lists for 2012. It is the first listing for Brown’s Beach House restaurant, while the Hotel Hana Maui and Honua Spa was last listed in 2010, and had been a Four Diamond property for seven consecutive years. The hotel’s Kauiki Dining Room also had been listed among the Four Diamond-winning restaurants in 2009 and 2010.
Added late last year and not on the 2011 lists issued in January, the properties are the only new Hawaii additions to either coveted roster.
La Mer restaurant at the Halekulani retained the Five Diamond rating it first attained in 1990, while Chef Mavro maintained the Five Diamonds initially awarded in 2008.
Five Diamond ratings also were retained by the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, which made the list in 1998, by Maui’s Ritz-Carlton Kapalua (1996) and by the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea (1991).
