Alex Ironside scored 19 points and A.J. Ortaleza added 17 to lead McKinley to a 59-51 victory over Farrington in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Red East boys basketball game Monday night.
The Tigers, who improved to 7-2 in league play, led 30-28 at halftime but turned up the pressure after the break, converting a flurry of Govs turnovers into easy layups.
“(Ironside) did a great job,” Farrington coach Allan Silva said. “He and (Ortaleza) were the difference.”
Farrington threatened in the fourth behind Mikey Klemen (19 points) and Jeffrey Madarang (13), who each scored seven in the quarter.
