Police officer to be remembered at service
A candlelight memorial service will be held for police officer Garret Davis at 8:30 p.m. today at New Hope Leeward Church in Waipahu.
Davis died the night of Jan. 21 after he pulled over to help a motorist on the H-1 freeway in Aiea. A truck hit the squad car in which Davis sat.
The service is being put on by Davis’ friends. The church is in the Waipahu Town Center, 94-050 Farrington Highway.
The Police Department is also holding a service, tentatively scheduled for Feb. 7. Details will be announced later.
