Gridiron Kickoff Classic Saturday
The Hawaii Gridiron League opens its season with Saturday’s Gridiron Kickoff Classic at Radford High.
The Hawaii All-Stars take on the USA All-Stars in a contest starting at 6 p.m. The day includes two games between youth football teams starting at 2 p.m.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students through college with an ID.
The HGL is comprised of eight teams representing parts of Oahu and is part of the World Gridiron Association.
The league commissioner is former NFL and University of Hawaii standout Ashley Lelie.

SUP World Tour opens
Two-time defending world champion Kai Lenny of Maui begins his quest for a third title as the Standup World Tour kicks off its season with the Sunset Beach Pro, Sunday through Feb. 14.
The event also includes Na Kama Kai youth clinic and competition, and the women’s competition Saturday at Turtle Bay Resort.
Among the other top competitors are Hawaii’s Duane DeSoto, Jamie O’Brian, Kamaki Worthington and Ikaika Kalama, and Peyo Lizarazu of France. Holding period for the trials begins Sunday and for the main event Monday. Also, Lenny is the featured speaker at Wednesday’s “Talk Story” event at 8 p.m. at the resort’s Surfer bar.

Free demo day from C4 Waterman
Stand-up paddleboards, including the iSUP inflatable, will be available to try at C4 Waterman’s demo day Saturday at Ala Moana Beach Park.
The event runs from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Ewa end of the park. For information, call 739-2837.
