Boy, 13, is airlifted off trail after falling
A teenage hiker suffered possible arm and head injuries and was airlifted from Koko Head trail Sunday morning after he tripped and fell while hiking back down the trail, Honolulu Fire Capt. Gary Lum said.
The boy, 13, was making his way down the trail when he fell about one-third of the way from the top, Lum said.
Firefighters were dispatched at 9:04 a.m., and the Fire Department’s helicopter transferred him to paramedics at 9:55 a.m., Lum said.
Mo-ped rider propelled through window
A man was in serious condition Sunday after his mo-ped apparently rear-ended another vehicle, sending the man crashing through the rear window.
Emergency Medical Services said the victim is a male in his 30s. He was taken to a local trauma center in serious condition with what dispatch reports described as multiple fractures and abrasions.
The collision took place on Oneawa Street in Kailua at about 8 p.m.
