Wahine volleyball to play Nebraska on Maui
Hawaii will play Nebraska in a spring exhibition women’s volleyball match on March 23 at War Memorial Gym in Wailuku, Maui.
The match is tentatively set for 6 p.m. Ticket information is not yet available.
The Rainbow Wahine (31-2) finished No. 5 in the final AVCA coaches poll, falling to USC in the NCAA regional semifinal in five. The Huskers (25-5) were No. 12 in the final poll, after being upset in the NCAA second round by Kansas State.
Nebraska last traveled to Hawaii for a spring match in 2005.
The match is tentatively scheduled as part of a weekend doubleheader that would include a UH football scrimmage on March 24 at War Memorial Stadium.
UH baseball individual tickets on sale
Individual game tickets for Hawaii baseball are on sale. Tickets are $9 in the lower and mid levels, while upper-level seats cost $4 (students 4-18), $6 (senior citizens age 65 and over) or $7 (adult).
Fans can purchase tickets at HawaiiAthletics.com, or visit the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday or call 944-2687. The 2012 season begins at home Feb. 17 against No. 27 Oregon.
Hawaii upsets Saint Mary’s in tennis
The Hawaii men’s tennis team captured the doubles point, which proved to be the match-winner as Hawaii downed Saint Mary’s 4-3 on Sunday in Moraga, Calif.
UH’s doubles teams of Carter Lam/Jared Spiker and Chas Okamoto/Chris Meyer each won their match to pick up the first point of the day. UH’s singles winners included Nils Schuhmann, Okamoto and Spiker.
UH improved to 1-3. Saint Mary’s dropped to 1-5.
