'BUTLER' DOES IT AT DHT | 1. Diamond Head Theatre cast member Lisa Konove (Natalie), third from left, partied with assistant technical director Vincent Green, left, and party guests Tricia Marciel and Viet Vo at the post-show cast party for DHT's production of "The Butler Did It" Feb. 2 at Salt in Kaimuki. Konove does a stellar job playing an aging and ruthless actress whose schemes drive much of the action. Vo, a former Hawaii resident now living in New York, entertained the others with stories about his experiences there playing characters of various ethnic and racial groups -- and the dangers involved in learning bits and pieces of various dialects of Latin American Spanish from some of the native speakers he has met (a word that is OK in one part of Latin America can be an insult in another).

4. From left, "Butler" director Rob Duval talked with Sheraton Waikiki general manager Kelly Sanders, DHT board member Dr. John Magauran and artistic director John Rampage during the pre-show reception in the sponsors' tent. Sheraton provides the food for most of DHT's pre-show receptions, and Rampage directs and choreographs many of the shows. But with Duval directing and Big G's Catering providing the food, it was a "night off" for Rampage and Sanders, and they enjoyed the evening as spectators.
