Water sports store opens
Surf Line Hawaii’s Ocean Lifestyle Store, a converted warehouse offering products from some of the top local watermen and waterwomen in Hawaii, opened Thursday at 411 Puuhale Road.
Among the products making their retail debut are sea terrain bikes by Ultimate Tommi; three-person racing canoes by Tiger Taylor; and keiki OC-1s produced by Paddle Sports International.
In addition to its own Surf Line Hawaii and Jams World clothing lines, the store carries Hawaii-made apparel and accessories.

BMX season begins
Island BMX opens the winter racing season Saturday at its revamped and relandscaped Sandbox BMX race track.
Registration opens at 4 p.m. with racing at 5 p.m. Entry fee is $10.
The track also is open for practice on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m.

Leeward AYSO region gets grant
Leeward AYSO Region 269 was one of 20 organizations to earn a Responsible Sports grant from the Liberty Mutual Responsible Sports Program.
The region earned the $2,500 grant through a grassroots effort that encouraged community members to complete an online course about sports mentoring. The money will be used to help fund Hawaii AYSO teams competing at the AYSO national tournament in Knoxville, Tenn.

Extreme Cowboy Race in March
Two-time EXCA world champion Cam Schryver headlines the first Extreme Cowboy Hawaii clinics and race next month at Gunstock Ranch.
The clinics are March 21-23 and March 25. The race is March 24.
