SINGAPORE » Katie Futcher, Jenny Shin and Angela Stanford shared the second-round lead earlier today at the LPGA Tour’s HSBC Women’s Champions.

Futcher and Shin each fired 5-under 67s in the second round to tie Stanford, the first-round leader who went 66-70 on the par-72 Tanah Merah Country Club’s Garden Course. Honolulu’s Michelle Wie was in 60th after following her first-round 79 with a 9-over 81 today. She has 13 bogeys, a triple-bogey and no birdies through 36 holes.

Claxton leads in Mexico

Will Claxton shot a 4-under 66 in windy conditions to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Charles Howell, Greg Owen, John Huh, Marc Turnesa, Alejandro Canizares, Matt Every and Mark D. Anderson were tied for second.
