Dental service offers free advice for kids
Hawaii Dental Service will host its eighth annual Tooth Fairy Fun Day at the Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in conjunction with National Children’s Dental Health Month.
Keiki can meet the tooth fairy, who will give out free dental floss and toothbrushes as well as advice on proper care of teeth and gums.
The event includes educational games, activities such as decorating a box to hold baby teeth, prizes and free dental screenings by HDS-member dentists.
Museum admission is $6.50, free for the first 500 HDS members and their families who present a membership card. Call 521-1431.
Teacher to lead brain-training class
Meditation teacher and author Ilchi Lee will discuss the "Power of Meditation: Energy Principles for Everyday Success" and lead a meditation to ease stress from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Hawai‘i Convention Center’s Liliu Theater.
Lee has written more than 30 books, including "The Call of Sedona: Journey of the Heart." His brain education program centers on improving the brain’s potential through physical conditioning, balance, sensory awareness, emotional regulation, concentration and imagination.

Newspaper to list craft fairs in guide
Flowers aren’t the only thing that bloom in abundance during springtime. It’s also a new season for craft fairs.
The Today section will publish its Spring Craft Fair Guide on March 26, for events taking place through June.

Aiea High to mark 50th anniversary
Aiea High School will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a Family Fun Fair on March 30. The festivities from 4 to 9 p.m. will include food boths, Xtreme Rides & Inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides, a country store, craft fair, face and hair painting, entertainment and games.
Xtreme wristbands, good for unlimited rides and one attempt at rock-climbing, costs $20. Individual scrips may be purchased for games and food.
Parking will be available at Aiea Elementary School for a fee, with free shuttle service.
