SAKAGUCHI, WARD HOT IN ‘GREASE’: Allison Chu, left, congratulated cast members Alaura Ward (Marty) and Dwayne Saka­­gu­chi (Kenickie) after the opening-night performance of “Grease” Feb. 17 at Kaimuki High School. Saka­gu­chi’s athleticism made “Greased Lighting” an explosive highlight musical number, and when Ward asked, “Should I put on my robe?” in the slumber party scene, several young men in the audience could be heard saying “No!”

Consular Corps honorees John Henry Felix, honorary consul of Spain and Portugal, left, and J. Hans Strasser, honorary consul general of Austria, talked with Strasser’s wife, Marie Claire, and grandson Sidney Strasser during a break in the program. The elder Strasser received the corps’ 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award and the magnificent canoe paddle trophy Sidney is holding in recognition of his 35 years as Austria’s diplomatic representative in Hawaii. Felix received the 2011 Distinguished Service Medal.
