HPU competes indoor and on sand
The spring volleyball season for Hawaii Pacific will include matches in the gym and on the sand this week.
The Sea Warriors host Nittaidai of Japan in an exhibition match Thursday at the St. Andrew’s Priory gym. First serve is at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
HPU’s sand team makes its debut at Saturday’s Hawaii-Japan Challenge at Queen’s Beach. The Sea Warriors play Nittaidai at 8 a.m. and the University of Hawaii at 12:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Cal Baptist upends UHH in baseball
Zach Esquerra drove in two runs to lead Cal Baptist to a 6-3 baseball win over Hawaii-Hilo in Hilo on Monday.
Zachary Wong went 4-for-4 with an RBI for the Vulcans (4-14, 1-8 PacWest). The Lancers improved to 18-4 and 15-2.
