UH water polo loses at San Diego State
The No. 14 University of Hawaii women’s water polo team remained winless in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play after losing at No. 8 San Diego State 8-4 on Thursday.
Leanne Ford led San Diego State (12-6 and 1-3) with three goals. Emily Carr scored two goals, and Danielle Lewis and Caity Lopes da Silva each scored one for Hawaii (4-8, 0-4). Serena Reid had 10 saves.
Hilo’s Waracka honored by PacWest
Hawaii-Hilo senior Amber Waracka was selected Pacific West Conference Pitcher of the Week after not allowing a run over 172⁄3 innings. Waracka went 3-0 last week, allowing six hits and four walks. She struck out 14.
